NEOM — Former France international Alexandre Lacazette has officially joined NEOM Sports Club, marking the latest high-profile acquisition in the Roshn Saudi League as the newly promoted team gears up for its inaugural season in the top division.
The 34-year-old forward, who ranks as Lyon’s second all-time leading scorer, brings extensive experience from both Ligue 1 and the English Premier League, where he shone for Arsenal from 2017 to 2022.
During his stint in England, Lacazette scored 54 goals across 158 league matches and played a pivotal role in helping the Gunners secure the FA Cup in 2020.
NEOM SC announced the signing on Tuesday with a post on social media: “From the cradle of heritage in Lyon to the frontier of the future at NEOM SC. Goal-scoring maestro Alexandre Lacazette has arrived.”
The ambitious club earned its spot in the 2025–26 Roshn Saudi League by winning the First Division League under the guidance of Brazilian coach Pericles Chamusca, as they aim to assemble a competitive team for the approaching season.
Lacazette joins an expanding roster of former Olympique Lyonnais players in the Kingdom, including Al Ittihad’s Karim Benzema and Houssem Aouar, as well as his new NEOM SC teammate Saïd Benrahma.
His arrival comes on the heels of Monday’s announcement regarding Ivorian midfielder Amadou Koné from Reims, as the club continues to bolster its lineup ahead of the new season.
