RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — The first trophy of the 2026 LIV Golf season is officially on the line tonight, Saturday, February 7, as a three-way tie at the top sets the stage for a high-stakes finale at Riyadh Golf Club. Talor Gooch (Smash GC), Thomas Detry (4Aces GC), and Peter Uihlein (RangeGoats GC) all enter the fourth and final round at 10-under par, with the winner set to claim the $4 million individual first-place check.
Under the lights of the “Pearl of the Desert,” the final round serves as the conclusion to the league’s first-ever 72-hole stroke-play event. Gooch, who posted back-to-back 67s to climb into the lead, is looking for his first win as captain of Smash GC. He faces stiff competition from Detry, the Belgian newcomer who has led since the opening night, and Uihlein, whose red-hot putter salvaged a 3-under 69 in the third round.
The chasing pack is equally dangerous, with Jon Rahm (Legion XIII) and Sebastian Muñoz (Torque GC) sitting just two shots back at 8-under par. According to official league stats, the field average has dropped to 69.8, suggesting that a low score—likely a 65 or better—will be required to secure the title.
In the team competition, Smash GC leads with a cumulative score of 30-under, holding a three-stroke advantage over Torque GC. For the first time in 2026, the $10 million team purse will be distributed among all 13 teams, though the top three will still split the lion’s share of the prize money.
