Al-Ittihad Identify Jürgen Klopp as Primary Managerial Target Following Conceição Departure

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Professional League club Al-Ittihad have identified former Liverpool FC manager Jürgen Klopp as their primary candidate to fill the club’s managerial vacancy, according to a report by talkSPORT.

The 58-year-old German manager has been targeted by the Jeddah-based club following the departure of manager Sérgio Conceição. Klopp concluded a nine-year tenure at Liverpool in 2024, during which he won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. He currently holds a global football role with corporate entity Red Bull.

Despite Al-Ittihad’s interest, Klopp’s representative, Marc Kosicke, has dismissed the possibility of an immediate appointment. In a statement provided via journalist Ismael Mahmoud and winwin, Kosicke stated, “There is no possibility for Klopp to manage Al-Ittihad this year.”

Klopp has also addressed his career status, stating that he is not currently planning an immediate return to coaching. “Right now I’m not thinking about that,” Klopp stated regarding a return to the dugout. “As a coach I’m not completely finished… But there’s nothing planned.”
