Saudi Arabia Named First-Ever Recipient of Formula E’s ‘Best Host Country’ Award

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Arabia has been awarded the inaugural “Best Host Country” award by Formula E, recognizing the Kingdom’s outstanding contribution to hosting and delivering the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

The accolade was presented during the 2025/26 Formula E End of Season Awards ceremony in London. The newly introduced award recognizes the destination that sets the global benchmark for event delivery, motorsport infrastructure, and organizational partnership. The honor highlights the Kingdom’s operational standards since first joining the championship calendar in 2018 with the historic Diriyah E-Prix.

The achievement reflects the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Sport, the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), the Saudi Motorsport Company (SMC), and event company Sela. Eng. Mansour Almokbel, Acting CEO of SAMF and CEO of SMC, noted that the award underscores the collective dedication of national teams in delivering world-class electric racing and pioneering sustainable sports entertainment on the global stage.
