Ahmed Albrahim: The Rising Welterweight Force in PFL MENA

Saudi Arabia’s Ahmed Albrahim has solidified his status as one of the most intriguing prospects in the regional welterweight landscape following a standout developmental path under the Professional Fighters League (PFL) banner.

An accomplished combat athlete with a deep background in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and grappling, Albrahim is a former MCL Riyadh No-Gi champion and an ADCC Open Middle East silver medalist.
Interestingly, his journey into mixed martial arts was unconventional; he initially spent his early sporting years playing as a football goalkeeper before discovering his true passion lay inside the cage.

THE ROAD THROUGH THE SMART CAGE
Albrahim began turning heads on the regional circuit during the 2025 PFL MENA series. Competing at PFL MENA 4 in Alkhobar in December 2025, Albrahim faced Egypt’s Mohamed Nabil in a highly anticipated amateur welterweight showcase. Utilizing his signature elite grappling pedigree, Albrahim seamlessly controlled the fight on the ground before unleashing a relentless barrage of hammer-fists in the second round, forcing the referee to step in and award him a spectacular TKO victory.

A STATEMENT PROFESSIONAL DEBUT
Building on the massive momentum of that stoppage, the 29-year-old dedicated four grueling months to an intensive training camp across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Preparing alongside established regional veterans like Hamza Kooheji, Albrahim focused on refining his striking to complement his world-class wrestling base.

The extensive preparation paid off perfectly on May 24, 2026, at PFL MENA 9: Pride of Arabia, hosted at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Making his highly anticipated official professional debut, Albrahim squared off against Egyptian striker Khaled Mahmoud. True to his promise of representing the Kingdom on the big stage, Albrahim executed a highly calculated game plan to bypass his opponent’s reach, dictating the pace of the action and securing a definitive performance.

With back-to-back dominant showings under the PFL banner, Ahmed Albrahim has firmly established himself as a focal point of Saudi Arabia’s modern mixed martial arts movement. As the 2026 PFL MENA season progresses toward its high-stakes playoff brackets, the welterweight division has officially been put on notice.
