Dina Ahmed Mustafa Wins Bronze in Asian Games Women’s Kumite +68 kg

TOYOHASHI, JAPAN — Saudi Arabian karateka Dina Ahmed Mustafa secured the bronze medal in the women’s kumite +68 kg division at the 2026 Asian Games on Sunday, September 20, at the Toyohashi City General Gymnasium in Aichi Prefecture.

Mustafa earned the podium position after recovering from a 3–0 deficit against Nepal’s Arika Gurung, concluding the contest with an 8–7 victory. According to official tournament documentation and reporting by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Arab News, and the Saudi Gazette, the result marks Saudi Arabia’s first medal won by a female athlete at the senior Asian Games.

Alongside fellow karateka Saud Al-Bashir’s bronze in the men’s 60 kg kumite category, Mustafa’s victory opened Saudi Arabia’s medal tally at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games, where 144 Saudi athletes are participating across multiple disciplines.
