RIYADH — In a pivotal move for Saudi Arabian football, Al Nassr has become the first team to arrive in Hong Kong ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 Saudi Super Cup. The tournament, which is set to take place from August 19 to 24, will showcase four prominent Saudi Pro League clubs: Al Ittihad, Al Nassr, Al Qadsiah, and Al Ahli.

Al Nassr is scheduled to face reigning league champions Al Ittihad in the semi-final on Tuesday at Hong Kong Stadium, the exclusive venue for all tournament matches. This matchup is particularly significant as it pits two of the league’s powerhouse teams against each other.

Following the completion of their pre-season preparations, which included a friendly against the Spanish side Almeria, Al Nassr’s squad returned briefly to Riyadh for a focused training session at Al-Awwal Park before embarking on their journey to East Asia.

Under the direction of new Portuguese head coach Jorge Jesus, Al Nassr enters the competition with aspirations of securing their first trophy of the new season. The team has enhanced its roster through marquee summer signings, which include forward João Félix and Spanish defender Iñigo Martínez. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to be a central figure in the team’s attacking strategy.

With recent statistics showing Al Nassr finishing last season with an impressive 75% win rate, this revamped squad aims to establish itself strongly in Hong Kong. The club will seek to develop early-season momentum as they prepare for the Roshn Saudi League campaign, positioning themselves as strong contenders for both domestic and international glory.
