RIYADH — In a striking development for the footballing world, Al Nassr has officially signed French winger Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich. This significant acquisition underscores the Riyadh club’s ambitions to become a dominant force in the upcoming seasons.

The 29-year-old player was unveiled on Friday by Al Nassr’s sporting director, Siaô Coutinho, and will sport the club’s No. 21 jersey. Coman’s contract extends until 2028, with financial reports from German media outlets such as Sky Sports and Bild estimating the deal at approximately €30 million, inclusive of incentives.

Furthermore, Coman is set to earn an estimated annual salary ranging from €20 to €25 million, marking him as one of the highest-paid players in the league.

Coman first joined Bayern in 2015 from Juventus, initially on a loan basis, before securing a permanent transfer in 2017. During his remarkable tenure in Bavaria, he has accumulated an impressive record of nine Bundesliga titles, three DFB-Pokals, and notably scored the decisive goal in the 2020 UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain, earning him the moniker “the Bavarian King” among fans.

His football journey commenced in the suburbs of Paris, where he clinched a Ligue 1 title with PSG as a teenager. He further garnered a Serie A title and an Italian Cup during his stint with Juventus before solidifying his legacy at Bayern Munich as one of Europe’s most accomplished players. Across his time with Bayern, Coman has netted nearly 40 goals in over 185 appearances.

However, the path has not been without its trials. A series of injuries, notably to his ankle and knee, have sidelined him for more than 100 matches throughout his tenure at Bayern, preventing his inclusion in France’s victorious 2018 World Cup squad. His latest injury was a medial knee ligament tear in January 2024.

Despite these setbacks, Coman is recognized as a game-changing asset when fit, renowned for his speed, creativity, and ability to deliver critical performances. Al Nassr is optimistic that his skills will help lead the team to success under new head coach Jorge Jesus.

The addition of Coman to an already star-studded roster, featuring names like Cristiano Ronaldo, João Félix, Sadio Mané, and Iñigo Martínez, signifies Al Nassr’s clear ambition for silverware in 2025, marking a strong step forward in their quest for glory.
