RIYADH — In an impressive display of skill and strategy, Al Hilal secured their place in the semifinals of the King’s Cup with a decisive 4-1 victory over Al Fateh on Saturday at Kingdom Arena. This commanding performance further emphasizes the effectiveness of manager Simone Inzaghi’s tactics.

Al Hilal kicked off the scoring frenzy with a goal from Malcom in the 21st minute, quickly followed by a second from Ruben Neves just two minutes later. Neves’s finish highlighted his growing influence in the squad, contributing to Al Hilal’s remarkable attacking potency.

Defender Hassan Tombakti showcased his aerial prowess by scoring the third goal in the 35th minute, marking a dominant first half with Al Hilal holding 65% possession and outshooting Al Fateh 12-5.

After halftime, the four-time Asian champions continued to control the match. Substitute Marcos Leonardo made an immediate impact, netting the fourth goal just four minutes after coming on, further demonstrating Al Hilal’s relentless attacking tempo.

Ali Lajami appeared to have added a fifth for Al Hilal, but his effort was disallowed for offside after a VAR review. Moreover, Al Fateh managed to pull one back in the dying moments through Matías Vargas, but it proved to be merely a consolation as they fell short.

Statistically, Al Hilal dominated with a total of 14 shots on goal and a passing accuracy of 81%, significantly outmatching Al Fateh’s 7 shots and 72% passing rate. The victory propels Al Hilal into the final four, joining Al Kholood and Al Ahli as the semifinal lineup continues to take shape.
