Al Hilal Ascends to the Pinnacle of Saudi Pro League Following 2-0 Victory Against Damac

ABHA — In a pivotal match on Sunday, Al Hilal surged to the top of the Saudi Pro League standings, clinching a 2-0 victory against hosts Damac during the 12th round of the competition.

This win marked Al Hilal’s 10th victory of the season, bringing their total points to 32 and placing them one point ahead of second-placed Al Nassr, who suffered a 3-2 defeat to Al Ahli on Friday. Notably, Al Hilal has maintained a remarkable win rate of 83% this season, having won 10 out of their 12 matches.

The highly anticipated clash between Al Hilal and Al Nassr is set for the 12th of this month in the 14th round. However, Al Hilal will first face Al Hazm on Thursday. Meanwhile, Damac finds themselves in a precarious position, sitting at 14th place with just 9 points, only one point above the relegation zone.

The scoring opened for Al Hilal with Darwin Nunez in the 35th minute, followed by Marcos Leonardo, who secured the second goal in the 53rd minute. This successful attack underlines Al Hilal’s impressive offensive capabilities, having scored 30 goals in 12 matches.

In another notable match in Dammam, Al Qadsiah showcased their resurgence under new Irish coach Rodgers, delivering an impressive 4-0 victory over Al Riyadh. The goals for Al Qadsiah were netted by Julian Quinones, Nahitan Nandez, Mateo Retegui, and Turki Al Ammar.

This comprehensive triumph propelled Al Qadsiah up to fifth place with 24 points, while Al Riyadh remains in 16th place with only 8 points, intensifying their fight against relegation.
