Saudi MMA Federation President Witnesses Formation of European Mixed Martial Arts Federation

BELGRADE — February 14, 2026. Ms. Rasha Al-Khamis, President of the Saudi Mixed Martial Arts Federation and Board Member of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), officially attended the historic establishment of the European Mixed Martial Arts Federation (EMMAF) in Belgrade. The event, held during the 2026 IMMAF European Championships, marks the completion of the global sport’s continental administrative structure.

The assembly in Serbia saw the election of the first EMMAF executive team, with Luka Nikolic of Serbia appointed as President, alongside Vice Presidents Marek Herda (Slovakia) and Jo-Anne van der Vlugt (Netherlands). Ms. Al-Khamis’s attendance underscores Saudi Arabia’s increasing influence in international sports governance and its commitment to institutionalizing MMA through transparent, unified administrative frameworks.

According to IMMAF officials, the creation of EMMAF provides a consolidated governing body for European member nations, mirroring the structures already established in Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Ms. Al-Khamis noted that this development is a critical step toward the professionalization of the ecosystem, ensuring consistent governance standards across all international competitions. The Saudi Federation continues to align its domestic strategy with these global standards as part of the broader Vision 2030 sports development objectives.
