RIYADH — Qiddiya City has made significant progress towards establishing itself as the premier golf destination in the Kingdom with the introduction of a signature 18-hole championship golf course designed by Sir Nick Faldo. This comes alongside a new global partnership with the Faldo Series, the leading platform for youth golf development worldwide.
The recently announced partnership designates Qiddiya City as an official global partner of the Faldo Series, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s goal of fostering grassroots golf. The city will also host future events of the Faldo Series, enhancing its role as a regional hub for youth development in the sport.
Scheduled to open in 2026, the Faldo-designed course will be dramatically set against the 200-meter cliffs of the Tuwaiq Mountains and will include a variety of innovative and accessible features, such as a distinctive ‘3-hole return’ layout that allows players of all skill levels to enjoy the game at their own pace. A cutting-edge clubhouse, driving range, and golf academy are expected to debut in 2028.

The course is designed to comply with global tournament standards while promoting inclusivity, featuring floodlit settings that ensure an exceptional playing experience for both professionals and amateurs.
Custom learning pathways and golf entertainment features are being integrated into the academy to captivate newcomers and enrich the overall player experience.
The course will be complemented by a landmark clubhouse and academy complex created by Patterson’s.
Highlighting sustainability and wellness, the green-roofed facility will consist of three interconnected zones: a Golf Clubhouse, a Social Wellness Hub, and a modern Golf Academy.
Facilities will include both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, wellness and fitness centers, social lounges, and various dining options. The complex is anticipated to draw over 200,000 visitors annually.
Located just 40 minutes from Riyadh, Qiddiya City covers 360 square kilometers and is the world’s first city designed specifically for play. Its ambitious master plan showcases more than 20 districts centered around entertainment, sports, and culture, including significant projects such as the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium—set to host events during the 2034 FIFA World Cup—and the Mercedes AMG World of Performance, in addition to a performing arts center and a motorsports arena.
