RONALDO NOMINATED FOR GLOBE SOCCER BEST MIDDLE EAST PLAYER AMID PSG DOMINANCE

The football world turns its eyes to Dubai as the 16th Globe Soccer Awards prepare to celebrate the stars of the beautiful game — and once again, Cristiano Ronaldo is in the spotlight.

The Al Nassr captain and global icon has been nominated for the Best Middle East Player award, a prestigious honor that recognizes the region’s most influential footballer. Ronaldo stands tall among a legendary lineup, facing fierce competition from Saudi Pro League rivals including Salem Al-Dawsari (Al Hilal), Karim Benzema (Al Ittihad), Roberto Firmino (Al Ahli), N’Golo Kanté (Al Ittihad), Riyad Mahrez (Al Ahli), and Ivan Toney (Al Ahli).

While Paris Saint-Germain dominates this year’s nominations following their historic treble — Champions League, Ligue 1, and Coupe de France — the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is making powerful waves on the global stage. The inclusion of six Roshn Saudi League superstars underscores the league’s meteoric rise and its growing influence in world football.

This nomination is more than recognition — it’s a testament to Ronaldo’s enduring legacy and his pivotal role in transforming Saudi football. Since joining Al Nassr in 2023, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner hasn’t just played matches; he’s inspired a nation. From record-breaking crowds to global broadcast deals, Ronaldo has helped turn the RSL into a must-watch league, aligning perfectly with Vision 2030’s mission to make Saudi Arabia a global sports capital.

As Tommaso Bendoni, CEO of Globe Soccer, said: “Dubai has been the host city for our event for 16 years, and the vision and ambition of the emirate’s leadership means it always provides an incredible backdrop.”

But tonight, all eyes will be on Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam — where the future of Middle Eastern football is being written.

The awards ceremony will take place on December 28, 2025, at the iconic Atlantis The Royal on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, featuring 15 categories and a public vote determining finalists across nine honors.

While legends like Vinícius Jr., Mbappé, Kane, and Salah battle for global accolades, the Best Middle East Player category belongs to a new era — one where Saudi Arabia isn’t just participating in football history.

It’s leading it.
