AR RASS — In a thrilling quarterfinal during the ongoing King’s Cup, Al Kholood continued their remarkable journey by securing a spot in the semifinals with a nail-biting 4-3 victory over Al Khaleej at Al Hazm Club Stadium in Ar Rass.

Al Kholood set the tone early in the match, with Romero Enrique delivering the opening goal just 3 minutes in. Following this momentum, Mezyani Maoulyda doubled the lead in the 24th minute, with Hattan Bahebri credited for the assist on the impressive play.

Al Khaleej fought back just before the halftime whistle, as Mansour Hamzi netted a goal in stoppage time, closing the gap to 2-1. However, Al Kholood swiftly regained their two-goal advantage as Bahebri scored in the final moments of the half.

The second half began with a bang when Saleh Al Amri struck a spectacular long-range effort in the 47th minute, bringing Al Khaleej within striking distance at 3-2.

Nevertheless, Al Kholood maintained their composure and extended their lead again, with Jon Buckley scoring in the 83rd minute to make it 4-2. Despite a late consolation goal from Shaquille Pinas of Al Khaleej deep in stoppage time, it was insufficient to alter the outcome.

With this victory, Al Kholood not only advances to the semifinals but also terminates Al Khaleej’s campaign, marking a significant milestone in their cup history. Recent statistics reveal that Al Kholood has now won 75% of their matches in the tournament this year, showcasing their prowess on the field.
