Saudi Arabia has once again proven its ability to host world-class sporting events, this time with the successful Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters. Held in Jeddah for the second consecutive year, the tournament has been praised globally for its exceptional organization and top-tier facilities, solidifying the Kingdom’s position as a premier destination for major competitions.
The event, which ran from August 8-16, featured outstanding performances and historic moments. In a career highlight, Thailand’s Thepchaiya Un-Nooh made a perfect 147 break—only the 15th player in snooker history to do so. Un-Nooh expressed his gratitude, stating his belief that the tournament is on its way to becoming one of the best in the world.
The praise wasn’t just for the professionals. The impressive play of 14-year-old Polish sensation Michal Szubarczyk earned him respect from veterans and marked the tournament as the best of his young career.
Players from around the globe echoed the positive sentiment, commending the organization and hospitality. English player Sam Craigie noted the ideal environment for players, while his compatriot Reanne Evans highlighted the country’s significant investment in sports. Egyptian player Hesham Shawky called the tournament “amazing,” recognizing Saudi Arabia’s professionalism in hosting the large-scale event.
The Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters, organized by the Saudi Billiard & Snooker Federation in partnership with Matchroom, is another clear example of the Kingdom’s commitment to developing its sports sector and attracting global attention.
