RIYADH — Cristiano Ronaldo has reaffirmed his commitment to Saudi Arabia’s tourism ambitions at the 2025 Tourism Summit held in Riyadh. The football superstar highlighted his genuine connection to the Kingdom and expressed enthusiasm about its development goals.

“I wish to be part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to host the World Cup in 2034,” Ronaldo stated, citing his admiration for AlUla and the Red Sea project while voicing his support for the Kingdom’s tourism vision, which aims to attract 100 million annual visitors by 2030.

The forward, who has been residing in Riyadh since joining Al Nassr three years ago, reflected on his relocation, asserting it was a well-founded decision. “When I moved to Saudi Arabia, they all called me crazy, but I think I’m a good crazy,” he remarked.

“They found out I was right because I believe in the project, the passion of the Saudis for football is amazing. I also believe in the country’s tourism initiatives. The Crown Prince has propelled many developments in this country, and of course, I’m part of the project,” he added, highlighting the Kingdom’s ambitious goals.

Ronaldo expressed his confidence in “the capability and ambition of the Saudi development project,” emphasizing his desire to contribute further. “I want to be part of the big project in Saudi Arabia,” he declared, noting that he identifies with the Kingdom. “I consider myself Saudi and love being here, as I contribute to various sectors,” he stated.

Additionally, Ronaldo shared his positive experiences since moving to Saudi Arabia and offered a glimpse into his future plans. “I’m enjoying every moment right now, and when I talk about retirement, it might mean in two years,” he concluded, leaving fans eager for what lies ahead.
