RIYADH — In a thrilling Matchday 11 of the Roshn Saudi Pro League, nine matches yielded 22 goals, showcasing the league’s escalating competitiveness and impressive attacking flair.
This round witnessed a goalless draw between Al Fayha and Al Hazem, alongside a 1-1 stalemate between Al Qadsiah and Damac. However, the remaining fixtures delivered decisive outcomes that reshaped the table.
Al Nassr maintained their flawless season, achieving a commanding 3-0 victory over Al Okhdood. This victory marks a historic milestone as Al Nassr becomes the first team in Saudi Pro League history to win their first 10 matches of a season.
In an individual triumph, Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo joined the top of the scoring charts with 12 goals, tying with teammate Joao Felix after netting twice against Al Okhdood. They both now share the record for the most goals scored in the opening 10 league matches, a record previously held by Omar Al Somah and Gelmin Rivas.
Al Hilal secured a narrow 3-2 win against Al Khaleej in a dramatic match, further solidifying their historical dominance in this fixture. This victory represents Hilal’s 12th league win over Al Khaleej, increasing their total goals against the club to an astonishing 41 — both league-high records.
Meanwhile, Al Ittihad bolstered their impressive unbeaten streak with a win over Al Shabab, extending their record to 26 league matches without defeat following international breaks. Since their loss to Al Wehda in October 2019, the Jeddah-based team has achieved 17 wins and nine draws during this period.
Matchday 11 also marked a landmark moment as Brendan Rodgers made his debut in the Saudi Pro League with Al Qadsiah, becoming the first Northern Irish coach to take the reins in the competition. His team managed to secure a draw against Damac, who remain winless this season with six draws across 10 matches.
Individually, Al Khaleej midfielder Konstantinos Fortounis distinguished himself by recording his 10th assist of the season, making him only the second player to reach double figures in assists within the first 10 rounds, following Al Ittihad’s Moussa Diaby last season.
Al Taawoun showcased their remarkable away form with a 2-0 victory over Al Kholood, marking the franchise’s first five consecutive away wins in their Saudi Pro League history.
The match between Al Nassr and Al Okhdood attracted the highest attendance of the round, with 19,472 fans witnessing the action at Al Awwal Park. Following closely was the clash between Al Ittihad and Al Shabab, which drew 15,871 spectators, while Al Hilal’s match against Al Khaleej recorded an attendance of 13,300 supporters.
Disciplinary measures were relatively mild, with only three red cards issued throughout the round — to Muteb Al Mufarrij (Al Taawoun), Mohammed Al Khaibari (Al Riyadh), and Abdulrahman Al Khaibari (Damac).
