Saudi Sports for All Federation President Reports Significant Increase in Physical

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, President of the Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA), participated in a student-led seminar at King Saud University (KSU) to discuss the Kingdom’s progress in public health and fitness. During the event, held on May 5, 2026, Prince Khaled highlighted a substantial growth in national physical activity levels.

According to data presented by the SFA, physical activity rates among adults in Saudi Arabia have risen to 59.1% in 2025, a significant increase from the 13% recorded in 2018. Prince Khaled attributed this growth to the implementation of international standards and targeted community programs. He noted that the federation’s current strategy focuses on transitioning from occasional participation to daily physical activity across all demographics, including children, youth, and seniors.

During a moderated discussion with student Raed Alfaadel of the Vision 2030 Club, Prince Khaled emphasized that sport serves as a fundamental pillar for quality of life and national development. He cited successful initiatives such as the Riyadh International Marathon—which recently drew over 50,000 participants—as well as programs like Nashati, Tennis for All, and Move Your Summer.

The seminar also addressed common misconceptions regarding the effort required to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Prince Khaled encouraged the student body to adopt consistent, simple habits rather than waiting for “the perfect moment” to begin. The SFA continues to collaborate with public and private sectors to expand accessible sports infrastructure as part of the Quality of Life Program under Vision 2030.
