JEDDAH — The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returns to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit this week, February 13–14, 2026, for the first double-header of Season 12, featuring the competitive return of “Pit Boost” recharging technology.
Following three rounds in São Paulo, Mexico City, and Miami, the championship arrives in Saudi Arabia with Nick Cassidy leading the standings. The Jeddah E-Prix will utilize a modified 3.001 km layout of the Corniche Circuit, featuring 19 turns and a bespoke hairpin connecting the traditional Formula 1 turns 3 and 22. According to the FIA, this week’s event marks the seventh time the Kingdom has hosted the electric series and the second consecutive year in Jeddah.
The primary technical focal point for the weekend is the mandatory implementation of Pit Boost during Friday’s Round 4. The technology, provided by Fortescue Zero, allows cars to receive a 10% energy increase (3.85kWh) via a 30-second, 600kW rapid charge in the pit lane. Regulation changes for 2026 dictate that during Pit Boost races, drivers will be restricted to only one Attack Mode activation, increasing the strategic complexity for teams managing energy consumption under the floodlights.
Official practice sessions are scheduled to begin on Thursday, February 12, at 8:00 PM local time. Friday’s race (Round 4) and Saturday’s race (Round 5) will both take place at 8:05 PM, maintaining the “night race” format that has become a staple of the Saudi leg. Championship organizers have confirmed that the top five drivers—Cassidy, Pascal Wehrlein, Mitch Evans, Oliver Rowland, and Nico Müller—are separated by only seven points entering the Jeddah weekend.
