RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – LIV Golf has officially included Riyadh in its 2026 international tournament schedule, according to an organizational announcement released on April 28, 2026. The selection of the Saudi Arabian capital as a long-term host venue aligns with the league’s established regional investment strategy and the Kingdom’s infrastructure development for professional golf.
Concurrently, LIV Golf confirmed the postponement of its scheduled event in New Orleans. The league cited a reassessment of financial allocations and logistical priorities as the primary factors for the delay. This adjustment occurs amid reports regarding the current funding structures and operational budgets provided by the organization’s primary financial backers.
The 2026 Riyadh event is part of a multi-year agreement to host elite-level tournaments in the region. Since its inception in 2022, LIV Golf has conducted events at various locations in Saudi Arabia, including the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City. The 2026 fixture is expected to feature a 48-player field and a standard $25 million prize purse, consistent with the league’s tournament format.
LIV Golf officials stated that a revised date for the New Orleans event will be announced following further review of the 2026 global calendar. The organization continues to manage its portfolio of international venues as it prepares for the upcoming season.
