According to recent statements, Saudi Arabia aims to transform the 2034 World Cup into an immersive cultural and sporting experience. The Kingdom is preparing to host matches across five major cities, with projections estimating that more than five million fans will attend throughout the tournament.
Prince Abdulaziz emphasized that the event will showcase Saudi Arabia’s natural and cultural landmarks — including destinations such as AlUla, the Red Sea coast, and the Asir highlands. Learning From 2026
Saudi officials will attend the 2026 World Cup in North America to study operations, logistics, fan-experience systems, and stadium management for a 48-team format. The Kingdom intends to apply this research as it designs its own fan-first strategy for 2034.
Stadiums and Infrastructure
The Kingdom is currently developing world-class stadiums and infrastructure to support the tournament. Projects include the King Salman International Stadium, expected to host both the opening match and the final, and additional modern venues in Riyadh and other major cities.
